On the Mountain with Jesus by Nina Keegan

Psalm 3:4
I cried out to the Lord,
and he answered me from his HOLY MOUNTAIN

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE MOUNTAINS..?
I was reading today about the transfiguration on the mountain Matthew 9:2-12, I started realizing something about mountains and had a revelation from the Lord..
Jesus often took the disciples to either Mount Herman or Mount Tabor, a mountain was often associated with closeness to God and symbolized a readiness to receive his words.

God had appeared to both Moses and Elijah on MOUNTAINS

Exodus 24:12-18 (NKJV)
12 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and be there; and I will give you tablets of stone, and the law and commandments which I have written, that you may teach them.”

1Kings 19:11
11 Then He said, (to Elijah)"Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.”

Coincidentally ,
Scripture talks about how MOUNTAINS CAN BE A SYMBOL FOR TRIALS..  and that they, through faith , prayer and declaration shall become level plains in our lives... yes mountains of adversity and strongholds can be cast into the sea if we have faith just the size of a tiny mustard seed!

The Bible talks about how we should speak to our mountain and the mountain ( of adversity) shall be cast into the sea...

Rev 8:8
[ Second Trumpet: The Seas Struck ] Then thesecond angel sounded: And something like a great mountain burning with fire was throwninto the sea, and a third of the sea became blood.

Zec 4:7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

Mark 11:23
"Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.

The revelation I had is this: mountains symbolize two very different things in the Bible

God brings us through our mountains (trials) that need to become level Plains... that is where we are drawn so incredibly close to God, that's where we can see God's hand revealed.. , that's where He can oftentimes meet us in the pit ...

On the other hand, the mountain top... high and lifted up, that's when we are so close to God, that's when we can hear clearly from God.. perhaps it is just a great image, a visual where we can see ourselves closer to God on the mountain tops having meetings with him like Moses and Elijah and witnessing the miraculous, high and lifted up above the naysayers down below.

"Many times through our mountainous trials… We can meet God on His mountain of victory!"

When we are on our proverbial mountain top, elevated in the authority we have in Christ and in the light of God's revelation.. we can meet God to level those negative mountains that pop up in our lives, the trials, the tribulation, the angst, the worry and fear... all of the mountains that come to steal, kill and destroy, the bait of satan
that tries to devour us!

When I go back to that scripture about the transfiguration of Jesus, He took only Peter, James and John and led them up this high mountain and they watched as miraculously Jesus's appearance was brilliantly transformed…
There were 12 disciples, do you ever wonder why only these three men were selected? Perhaps they were the only ones ready to completely understand and accept the great truth ...they were in the inner circle, they were among the first to hear Jesus's call..they were present at certain healings where others were excluded...I believe they were READY… I believe God is waiting on us to be ready.. sold out, available and obedient!

Luke 8:51
When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he (Jesus)did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child's father and mother.

The 3 had witnessed something amazing on the mountain of Transfiguration and were also told on the decent from the mountain, not to discuss what they had witnessed with anyone else… perhaps they were the only ones Jesus knew could handle such a miracle ...Jesus said this because they would not fully understand anything until Jesus had risen from the dead; only then would they realize that only through dying could Jesus show his victorious power over death and his complete authority to be King of kings,  Lord of lords… The disciples were not fully able to be powerful witnesses of God until they had grasped this as divine truth.

They did not have the Bible, they did not have God's revealed word, JESUS HAD NOT YET DIED AND RISEN..we have the scriptures that tell us about Jesus death and resurrection we have no excuse for unbelief.

We should never be afraid to confront evil (our mountains of adversity)  and to take our authority in Jesus on the mountain top! Jesus will always go with us, he will meet us on those mountain tops…we don't have to go on a search for Jesus like the disciples did.
We can meet Jesus high and lifted up on the mountain top closest to God… Where we can go when we are ready! What are you waiting for... go now.. lay down your fears, ask God to help your unbelief and meet him today..

I don't know about you but I want to be ready and willing for Jesus to lead me to the mountaintop and to receive great revelation of the mysteries of his divine will!

Eph 1:9
he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ,

We give God all glory and praise!
" God we ask for great knowledge and understanding that we will be ready and willing… We praise you and thank you for your wisdom and guidance into all truth in Jesus name we pray!"

Faith Moving Mountains
Matthew 17:20

And He said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this MOUNTAIN 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.

Psalm 125:2

As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the LORD surrounds His people From this time forth and forever.

Psalm 11:1

In the LORD I take refuge; How can you say to my soul, "Flee as a bird to your mountain;

Psalm 90:2

Before the mountains were born Or You gave birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.
Isaiah 54:10

"For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, And My covenant of peace will not be shaken," Says the LORD who has compassion on you.
