The Eagles in my backyard by Nina Keegan

TRUE STORY AND PROPHETIC MESSAGE FROM GOD!

The EAGLES in my backyard!

What I'm about to tell you is an absolute true story… One I believe is very prophetic and quite amazing… It is a very bittersweet story and yet I believe it has profound impact on what's happening in the world, our nation today. I believe it is a divine word on how we are to receive victory in times of trouble!

A few months ago my husband and I discovered an Eagles nest high up in the pine tree just over the fence in our backyard. This was very surreal and what I consider to be very prophetic and you'll see why by the end of this story....

Eagles, yes three baby eagles… One male and two females we're in this nest. This is highly unusual as we live in the middle of downtown Houston Texas.

We were so thrilled to find out about these precious baby eagles and we began watching them each day with binoculars. We watched them grow, become stronger, and we read up on them and learned so much about them.

We discovered that when a mama eagle lays her eggs that they are usually hatched about five days apart from each other… So we could definitely tell that the females were the 2 older ones and we could even tell the one that was the oldest because it was definitely more advanced.  We soon discovered that the youngest was the male eagle as we started to watch them grow, change and learn new things.

As they grew , they soon began to flap their wings and hop onto some of the branches just outside the nest… We would see the mom swoop in often and bring them a chunk of meat of some kind and they would be so excited and there would be a lot of chatter and exuberance going on every time she came near the nest.

Every day we checked on "our" Eagles and watched them… It was like watching a National Geographic film in our own backyard… They are so majestic and so beautiful… But then…

One day as we were watching, the mom swooped in with food and the baby boy eagle that had never yet  left the  nest, jumped up with excitement and we literally saw him fall, spiral out from this very tall pine tree onto the ground… We could not believe it… We were so panicked. We witnessed this whole thing in front of our very eyes.

Since it had fallen just over the fence it was not our yard… We tried to see if we could find it and it became apparent that it had fallen in a low bush and it was still alive… The mama eagle was beside herself darting back-and-forth trying to find it… the baby seemed quite hidden in the bushes . When we tried to ask the neighbors ( behind us) if we could go in their yard and help him

They said  "No" They said that the Eagles were a nuisance that they were loud and they wish they weren't there… They said we should leave nature to its course… We were astonished and so sad…"BUT THEY ARE EAGLES" we said...... By this time it was getting dark and we just prayed that the mama would somehow rescue her baby boy eagle.

The very next day we put a ladder to our fence to see if we could see if the baby boy had been rescued… When we looked at the nest we only saw the two females.…  then we saw him on the ground..We were so sad to see that the baby boy eagle had been killed by something… It was so devastating…!

I kept asking the Lord why we were allowed to see this baby boy fall out  of the nest ...and now, know that he was dead… I thought, "why couldn't it be that we would just think he flew away?"… We were so sad.

My sons who have been by often to watch them were also very sad… Then…

A few days later, when we looked into the nest we only saw one baby female and the mom feeding it… We had wondered as they had been flapping their wings so much more recently if the other baby female had flown away… But then in our neighborhood update email there was a picture of the dead baby female eagle on the next street over and that it had been hit by a car…

People were astonished that there would be Eagles right here in the middle of Houston… But why?.. Again, would we have to know and have proof that this baby eagle was dead… And  had not just flown away..?

We began praying over our last eagle and the poor mama who seemed so devastated…  she would sit in branches and call out hoping to hear the return call from her baby……

A few days later as I was sitting in my backyard I saw the third baby eagle just standing there in my grass in the middle of my backyard… She was so beautiful and not afraid at all… But then as my husband and I were watching her, it just flew up to sit on our back yard fence… She was sitting there for quite some time and then it literally just decided to LAY DOWN... right there on the fence… Never in my lifetime have I ever seen any kind  bird  just lay down… When we see any kind of bird, they are either standing up or they are flying.. this eagle just decided to lay down right there on the fence.. we were amazed .. and it stayed there for quite some time!

This whole time I kept feeling like the Lord was talking to me through these Eagles but at this particular time I said to the Lord,

"What  am I looking at right now?"

What is this all about..?" "Tell me about these eagles.."

And then, as if a sermon was being played out in my mind.. I heard this in my spirit...  so absolute and so powerfully.....

The Lord told me… That the first eagle that fell from the nest died because he was weak… not unlike us, God's people, we will not survive the evil of this world if we are weak, that we need strength that only comes from the Lord to endure  and overcome until the end… we must be strong in our faith… Believe and not doubt and stand firmly on the word and not waver in weakness .. that we must not bow down to the rhetoric and the evil but stay focused on the word of God… That's where our strength comes from ..That we must stay strong in him and in the word to survive!

Then I felt the Lord say that the second eagle that was hit by the car died because it was distracted by the things of the world.. And like us, when we take our eyes off JESUS, and instead focus on the world… We allow sin and distraction to lord over our lives..We let our hearts become seared, and then sin will take its toll.  We too could die a spiritual death when we try to accommodate the world… We mustn't let the worldly distractions sway us off the path God has for us… These distractions are strategies of the devil that can destroy us. As the Bible says many Christians will fall away in the end...

But then I felt God say that the last eagle… The one that laid down right in front of our eyes… Was how we will survive and endure to the end We like this eagle must REST IN HIM!

Seek Him first.. Cast our cares on to the wonderful strong shoulders of our loving Father… And then REST in the precious arms of the Him, the one who has all the answers… That is how we will win our war… We will conquer our battles in praises, thanksgiving and in HIS REST!!

It's interesting to me that the strongest of the Eagles survived because of Rest....

And with that we soon saw our last baby eagle grow and then fly away… Once in a while we still see the mom and the baby again.. we hear their calls as they will sometimes return  back to the nest as if to check on each other and have a bit of a reunion… And perhaps it's just to join together and have a time of REST…

Isaiah 40:31 - But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like EAGLES ; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

During these difficult ,chaotic  and uncertain times in this world… We must draw closer to God and strengthen ourselves in Him...The joy the Lord is our strength… We must not be distracted by the evil of this world and by the circumstances of this world but instead keep our focus on our almighty God… The one who holds this entire world in his hands!… He's got us and he will never let us go… And we must simply SEEK HIS FACE AND  REST... rest in him as we cast our cares, seek him daily for his plan… because the latter reign is so much greater than the former reign and we believe the glory of God will bring a great awakening that will change everything! Rest, Rest Rest!

Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Hebrews 4:1-16

Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened. For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest,’” although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” And again in this passage he said, “They shall not enter my rest.” ...

Psalm 103:5

Who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Exodus 19:4

You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.

Revelation 12:14

But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle so that she might fly from the serpent into the wilderness, to the place where she is to be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time.

Jeremiah 48:40

For thus says the Lord: “Behold, one shall fly swiftly like an eagle and spread his wings against Moab;

Deuteronomy 32:11

Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, that flutters over its young, spreading out its wings, catching them, bearing them on its pinions,
