When the Battle Chooses You.. by Nina Keegan

Over and over again in life we hear this statement… “Choose your battles”… “Pick your battles”…

I remember when I was raising my boys, so many times I would walk in their rooms and have to turn around and just close the door… Boys having messy rooms was not going to be a continuous battle I was going to fight… I felt I had to choose which battles  I was going to fight.. more important battles than a messy room I felt were, “Are they walking with the Lord?  How are their grades? Are they respecting authority?”
Them staying away from drugs and alcohol was a battle during their young adult years that I was adamant about.

“Pick your battles! Pick your battles!”

But....

“WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE BATTLE CHOOSES YOU..?”

Picking which battles to fight is not always our choice… Many times the Battle picks us..

Getting a late night call that your child has been in an accident, perhaps a bad doctors report, perhaps losing a job..perhaps losing a loved one..

These are battles we did not choose… But yet they are still ones we have to fight from time to time…

One thing I think is very important is to ALWAYS be prayed up, armor on and battle ready… Too often people only start praying in the midst of their trials… They turn to God in the trial in hopes of a way out…

The Bible tells us to put on the full armor of God so that we are always ready for whatever may come our way; so we are fully armed with the WORD of God deep in our hearts and souls… We can pray a hedge protection around us and our loved ones that is so huge that the enemy complains about it.

Job 1:10 ESV

Have you not put a hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.

I wonder sometimes if we are always dressed in our full armor or if it’s just a costume..?

This is something we must answer for ourselves…

One thing is for certain is that our armor after living some life, can become quite beaten up, dented, and resemble a battle worn ensemble fit for any military General!

This armor ultimately protects us… It bears the brunt of pain, quenches the fiery darts and protects us…

The word of God is our offensive weapon… It is the double edge sword… It is what leads us through all battles… It is what brings us out the other side stronger, more confident and victorious .. through these battles we will undoubtedly fully comprehend who our heavenly
Father is!

Any military has a preemptive plan… They study and know the enemy, they understand the plot and the schemes.., We too must be preemptive… It’s not an “if the battles and trials are coming, it’s when.” We must stay prayed up with our full armor on knowing that no matter what comes our way, our Almighty God will be there… We are never alone and He will never leave us or forsake us…

We do not have a choice sometimes in life, the world can happen to us… But the kingdom of heaven is always advancing and greater are we with who is in us than who is in the world!

No weapon formed against us can ever prosper and when we go through these tough times, I guarantee you that good will come from it… We will be stronger, more fortified, and strengthened in our knowledge and reliance on the Lord… We are resilient in Christ… We are victorious in Him… And the blood of Jesus is stronger than any battle… We are the majority in Christ!

When the enemy fell from heaven
He took 1/3 of the angels with him.. that means 2/3 of the angels are on our side!!!

As Jesus is so are we in the world...
   Jesus spoke saying,
“Don’t you know that I could call on my Father in Heaven  and he would send legions of angels to rescue me right now”…

We have that same power… But we need to know that we have that available to us!

We need to study the word of God for ourselves… It is our battle plan… We must be armed and ready… When the battle chooses you; you will have all you need in Christ to fight and win…

The joy of the Lord is our strength… He knows the great grievances and sufferings of his people… But he is our comforter, he is ever present help in times of trouble… And he loves us all with an everlasting love…!

If you are going through a battle that you did not choose… Please know that God chose you…
You were his before the  foundations of the earth began!

He’s got a plan, he’s got a strategy and it is always for good!

When you cannot possibly see an end to your suffering… Look at the eyes of Jesus and know that he has suffered the unthinkable because of his love for you… He knows where you are and he will love you through it all.. His perfect love cast out all fear and with one touch of his favor the tide of the battle will turn!!!

“The tide will turn in our favor!”

The phrase “The tide is turning” means:

1. reversal in a situation,
2. new and opposite flow,
3. to assist in getting over or moving forward
4. to carry forward with new momentum
5. to surmount a difficulty, obstacle, etc..to survive.

Prophecy this word over yourself and those who need hope right now, “The tide is turning in “my” favor, the tide is turning in “YOUR” favor, the tide is turning in “our” favor!!!”

Stay strong and stay focused and keep your eyes on Jesus!
Never give up! God's on your side. He loves you, and He's helping you! You're going to make it!

Put your hope in God and declare by faith, “The tide is turning in my favor!”

He is the author and the finisher of our faith!!

Zechariah 9:12 (AMP)
12 Return to the stronghold [of security and prosperity], You prisoners of hope;
Even today I am declaring that I will restore double your former prosperity to you..

Because we are IN Him, and He is IN us, we walk and live IN His victory!
 John 16:33 (AMP)

Hebrews 6:19 (AMP)
19 This hope [this confident assurance] we have as an anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whatever pressure bears upon it]—a safe and steadfast hope that enters within the veil [of the heavenly temple, that most Holy Place in which the very presence of God dwells],

Psalm 34:7 ESV

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.

Psalm 91:1-16 ESV

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day

The armor of God, found in Ephesians 6:10-18, is made up of the following six items:
the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit.
